Privacy, in plain English
What we keep
- Your email address (to log in and reset your password — never shown to anyone).
- A scrambled (argon2id) version of your password. We can't read it.
- Your birthday — to keep under-18s safer and show your age/sign only if you choose.
- Whatever you post: your profile, pics, songs, comments, bulletins, blog entries and mail.
What we don't do
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds.
- No IP address logs. Rate limiting keeps IPs in memory for a few minutes, then forgets them.
- No "who viewed my profile." Your profile view counter is just a number.
- No algorithm. Bulletins, comments and updates show up newest-first, from your friends only.
Cookies
Exactly one: the session cookie that keeps you logged in. That's it.
Account emails (confirming your address, resetting your password) are delivered by Resend, with link and open tracking switched off. We don't send newsletters.
Donations
The Donate buttons take you to PayPal. Nothing loads from PayPal until you click, and we never see your payment details; PayPal's own privacy policy covers what happens there.
Your control
- Make your profile private, approve comments first, hide your Online Now status, last login and age, and stay out of Browse and Search — all under Account Settings.
- Download everything you've posted, any time, as a zip.
- Delete your account for real. It's gone immediately; encrypted database backups age out within 7 days.
Reports and moderators
Space Face's admins, and the moderators they appoint, can see private profiles and posts so they can check reports. Your mail stays private: moderators only see a message if the person who got it reports it. Reports are anonymous to the person reported.
Under 18?
Profiles of members under 18 start out private, don't show up for adults in Browse, and adults can't send them friend requests or messages first. You must be 13 or older to join.
